BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager at our Aberdeen, SD facility. Our Manufacturing Engineering Manager leads a team of Operations Engineers and Technicians in all aspects of manufacturing engineering ranging from collaboration with Design Engineering on development programs, transition of those programs to production, and continual improvement in production operations and processes. As a key member of the Aberdeen Site Leadership Team, you (along with your team) will be counted on to:
Nurture and enhance our existing safety culture.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practices, manufacturing strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance (safety, quality, schedule, and cost).
Ensure appropriately skilled resources are available to support the shop floor. Hire, train, and mentor engineering team members.
Collaborate with team members to develop and manage performance objectives. Evaluate performance in terms of both what and how objectives are completed.
Champion capital expenditure and facility maintenance projects. Ensure projects are properly planned and executed.
Prepare departmental budgets and cost estimates and manage performance to those commitments.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Education: B.S degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering, Business, or Operations. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Experience: 8 years of relevant manufacturing experience. 2-3 years of experience in a people management role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Broad knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts and practices including Lean.
Ability to build cohesive teams.
Ability to collaborate to identify, define, develop and implement innovative solutions to manufacturing engineering problems or capitalize on continual improvement opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively throughout the entire organization.
Demonstrated ability to effectively write technical and business related documentation including technical papers, contract proposal inputs, performance reviews, and general correspondence.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
BS in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering preferred.
Experience working in heavy manufacturing in a DOD environment a plus.
