Lippert Components, Inc Plant Accountant in Brandon, South Dakota

This position will lead the financial activities within the site operations, which includes analyzing financial data and manufacturing variances, generating reports, and any other special requests in order to provide an accurate financial picture of how the business is functioning, per location. This position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

Job Requirements

  • Serve as a business partner to facility management to provide operational and strategic guidance as required

  • Analyze financial data and make appropriate monthly accruals

  • Assist with reconciliations to maintain accurate financial information, ensuring all accounting practices are in compliance with all relevant accounting standards, state and federal regulations, and Curt Group values and practices

  • Gather financial information and assist in financial audits

  • Compare and analyze financial differences between actual/budget/prior year and determine differences and/or needed adjustments

  • Ensure the production of timely and accurate financial reports to facilitate the business

  • Assist with the budget and forecasting process and provide support for the other cost centers when budgeting

  • Monitor and submit for inventory adjustments as needed, assist with physical counts and reconciliation, assist in confirming costs for new product development, analyze and report on variances and make needed adjustments to ensure accuracy of reporting

  • Ensure item set up integrity and help support proper item creation and maintenance

  • Assist with the tracking of fixed assets for the plant and report any additions or disposals

Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 2-5 years of related experience within a similar capacity

  • Education: BS/BA in related field or 4 years of related experience

  • Computer Skills: Experienced working with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

  • Organization Skills: Demonstrated organizational, process and analytical skills; ability to produce accurate and quality work with a fast turn around and a sense of urgency

  • Cross-functional Skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; engages and builds effective relationships across the organization; provides professional, timely, and proactive internal and external customer service

  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Accounting Degree or MBA

  • Computer Skills: Prior experience with Mapics or AS400 and an proficient level experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
