Daktronics Accounting Student in Brookings, South Dakota

Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a full-time student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.
Daktronics operates on fiscal year ending in April and trades on the NASDAQ under "DAKT". The accounting student will work across multiple accounting functions and may experience the following areas:
Prepare and ensure accuracy of month-end reports, journal entries, and schedules.
Analyze individual account activity and prepare analysis schedules.
Maintain month-end close organization and document retention.
Obtain and analyze data for compliance reports.
Assist with sales tax return preparation and other sales tax compliance.
Prepare cost analysis reports for projects.
Assist with managing lien releases and pay applications.
Assist with preparing information and pulling supporting documents for the external audit.
Enter vendor invoices into accounts payable system.
Assist with documenting and testing the internal controls.
Assist billing customers and maintaining accurate customer accounts.
Assist with general department duties as needed.
The ideal candidate must be a Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or business/economics with accounting minor or related degree and in their sophomore, junior, or senior year of school.
Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.

Avid interest in accounting and tax operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Motivated to learn and become proficient in Daktronics specific ERP software.
Proficient user of general Microsoft applications, including but not limited to; Excel and Word.
Self-motivated, flexible and organized and strong need to work as a team player.
