Daktronics Graphic Design Marketing Student in brookings, South Dakota


Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

Position located in Brookings, South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a full-time student. Preferred candidate should be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

Our Marketing student position will provide you with extensive learning opportunities, enhancing your potential. We’ll do our best to prepare you for full-time employment and enable you to have your foot in the door to apply for our full-time positions upon graduation.

Marketing students will gain experience:

  • Working within Daktronics brand guidelines

  • Creating compelling marketing brochures such as brochures, ads, PowerPoints, and banners

  • Creating proposals for potential projects

  • Editing photos for website

  • Working within a Digital Asset Management system (Widen)

  • Public Relations

  • Networking

  • Managing small projects

  • Prioritizing work

  • Problem Solving


Academic Requirements –

  • The ideal candidate must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's degree ingraphic design, advertising or related degree in their sophmore, junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.

  • Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.

    Other Requirements –

  • Have basic knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Must have taken GDES 201 or have experience using Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Able to manage multiple projects, work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

  • Demonstrate ability and desire to accept responsibility and take initiative.

  • Accept direction and instruction from the marketing team.

  • Be well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.

  • Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation.

  • Background check may be conducted.

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
