At Daktronics, the Human Resources Department is seen as a strategic business partner. We have responsibilities beyond mere paper pushing, such as advising leadership and impacting overall culture. You will work closely with our HR team and assist in a variety of challenging and interesting projects to meet these needs.
Effectively assist HR in activities that support hiring. Responsibilities include application review, interview set up, candidate pre-screening, interviewing, and offers.
Assist HR and various groups within Personnel with special projects as needed. Perform other responsibilities or activities as requested or needed.
Assist with various Recruiting activities: managing the jobs published online, and career fairs both within the community and local campuses.
Effectively learn Daktronics policies and procedures. Escalate issues as appropriate. Maintain accurate, appropriate and timely documentation.
Communicate effectively with all employees and team members including coworkers, Supervisors and Managers, help when and where needed, make suggestions for improvements.
Effectively use our HR system for tracking activities. Use the report writing tool as appropriate for analysis and data collection.
Maintain strict confidentiality of all information associated with Daktronics responsibilities.
Maintain good attendance and work a schedule necessary to fulfill responsibilities and complete assigned tasks.
Courteously and professionally represent Daktronics and the Personnel department.
Consistently complete quality work in a timely manner. Quickly learn new tasks.
Ability to adapt to an active environment, multi-tasking is often required.
Collaborate with other interns, from across the company, to complete various intern tasks.
Internship begins 7 January 2019. Students are required to take semester(s) off from classes and work through August 9, 2019.
Academic Requirements –
Preferred applicants will be currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor's degree program related to Human Resources, Consumer Affairs, Global Studies, International Business, Sociology, or Business.
Completion of sophomore year in good academic standing. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
Required to take a semester off from school to pursue the internship. Duration of internship will be a summer and a semester or a semester and a summer.
Must be able to commit to 40 hours per week.
Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this internship.
Other Requirements –
Ability to work flexible hours, as needed, to support international offices and to communicate with other countries due to time zone differences.
Ability to make excellent and appropriate decisions, following both legal guidelines and Daktronics philosophies.
Effective computer skills especially email and Word. Ability to learn our HRIS and reporting tools.
Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities and to effectively work with many supervisors and candidates.
Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently, but also willingness and ability to effectively contribute to and support our team.
Ability to travel. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, self-motivation.
Background check may be conducted.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
