As a feeder department, the Electronic Assembly Department is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of electronic components to the final assembly departments.
Train and develop employees using work instructions, standard work, production documents, demonstrations, and hands on training.
Attend and actively participate in Tier I and Tier II meetings.
Responsible for first line troubleshooting for problems or issues on the flow line. Elevates issues appropriately. Develop or assist in the development of 5Why root cause analysis for issues affecting line performance or quality.
Monitors work process and work place safety; identifying and correcting issues before accidents can occur. Enforces and trains proper PPE use and safe work practices.
Follows production plan and additional directions developed by the Production Team Leader to achieve established throughput and quality. Works with the crew to complete all production requirements and follows work instructions for the production area.
Effectively communicate work progress and constraints to Production Team Lead and Supervisor. Assists Production Team Lead in conducting process audits, updating visual controls, and making adjustments as needed.
Maintain production board, and issue notes throughout the scheduled shift.
Evaluate and recommend appropriate new quality process/production techniques. Assist in creating work instructions and standard work documents to improve processes. Create or assist in creating One-Point-Lessons to train employees.
Fill in for Production Team Lead and/or members of the flow line when employees are absent.
Complete improvement projects as assigned.
Verify needed material is in the flow line and escalate in accordance with established processes.
Effectively work with the leadership group within the department.
Assist and promote the 5S and Continuous Improvement Teams. Assist in implementing ideas or other process improvements when not working directly in the flow line. (May lead these groups)
Learn and follow company policies and procedures.
Complete other duties as assigned to meet customer needs.
High school diploma or GED required.
Computer skills, especially Glovia, Excel, Word, and Outlook are preferred.
Demonstrated leadership ability required.
Ability to train and motivate employees.
Good technical writing and verbal communication skills. Fluent in English verbal and written.
Ability to learn quickly.
Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and electrostatic discharge wear.
Physical requirements include the ability to:
Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors.
Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses.
Work with odors (solder/paint/solvent/manufacturing odor).
Lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs.) and/or awkward items.
Stand or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job functions.
Maintain steady hand-eye coordination.
Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.
Background check will be conducted.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
