The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Manufacturing Control Systems Engineer/Technologist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Identifying, designing, implementing, and leading various technical projects associated with manufacturing equipment across all site businesses.

  • Developing extensive high-level troubleshooting capabilities to provide tactical support for day-to-day manufacturing operations.

  • Identifying, leading and collaborating with production and maintenance teams to resolve and improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

  • Leading controls aspects of capital projects with Division Engineering partners

  • Leading strategic improvement initiatives for the site

  • Supporting Systems Technicians with tactical projects and growth

  • Driving continuous improvement activities for the plant

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree/Technical Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Two (2) combined years experience in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance and/or production in a private, public, government or military environment

  • PLC Programming experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution

  • Five (5) years of project work focused PLC programming and automation and experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strength in engineering/technical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and organizational skills to manage different priorities

  • Self-directed mindset that leads with high energy and works with minimal supervision or guidance

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and remain flexible to changes; responds with a sense of urgency

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
