Daktronics Manufacturing Process Engineer Student in brookings, South Dakota

Responsibilities

Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators’ experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

Position located in Brookings South Dakota. Candidates must be enrolled and registered as a fulltime student. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and at least 20 hours per week during the summer.

  • Design machine process tooling and fixtures.

  • Help resolve and improve issues on machine and assembly line equipment.

  • Create and document manufacturing process standards.

  • Perform time studies.

  • Collect and Evaluate quality data.

  • Create and/or revise assembly packets.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: The ideal candidate must be a fulltime student pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related degree and in their sophomore junior or senior year of school. Only strong performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered. Must maintain an acceptable GPA.

  • Computer skills or the ability to learn MS Office Creo Auto Cad and Glovia ERP.

  • Excellent communication skills ability to communicate from a technical and practical perspective. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team to work with minimum supervision ability to learn quickly and effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to

  • lift and carry up to 45 pounds

  • distinguish and identify wire colors

  • work with odors (solder coating)

  • maintain hand eye coordination

  • stand and or sit for the full shift.

  • Background check may be conducted.
