General InformationThe Human Resources Department and Veteran Services Office welcomes applications for the Human Resources/Veterans Services Technician position. The individual will perform a variety of confidential administrative work involving independent judgment in support of the Lincoln County Human Resources Department and Veterans Services Office. iResponsibilities include a broad range of administrative work, supporting recruitment and benefits administration, customer service and coordinating meetings and events.Examples of Duties IncludeEssential functions are critical or fundamental to the performance of the job. iThe following list includes the major functions for which the person in this position is held accountable. iActual daily time spent in any activity fluctuates depending on assigned responsibilities and the particular position within the department. i The position may also include other duties as assigned. iIncidental or non-essential functions are not included.iPrepare weekly Human Resources memo to the County Commissioners to ensure accurate records of employment related changes. iReceive, revise, assist in the preparation of, track and enter personnel action forms for departments.Support recruitment efforts by assisting in preparing job postings, advertisements, mailings and website postings. iResearch various advertisement avenues and methods. Receive, track and process job application materials and applicant statistical data. iCoordinate candidate recruitment. iTrack data. iProcess candidate communications. iCoordinate staff performance evaluation process by communicating with managers, distributing evaluations, monitoring the return of evaluations and processing forms. iProvide general support for the office. iOrganize and maintain employee files. iProcess mail. iOversee inventory and ordering, process invoices and receipts and coordinate billing through outside agencies and other departments. iCompile reports and data as requested. iAnswer phones. iGreet and assist customers and applicants. iRespond to general questions and inquiries about a wide variety of human resource related issues and general information about Lincoln County department functions.Assist with benefits related items by preparing new employee orientation packets, creating and maintaining employee and benefit files and preparing benefits information.Coordinate meetings and events including training opportunities, blood drive for County employees, job fairs, benefits related events and other events for the department.Assist Veteranis Services Office with answering the phone and questions from the public and direct them to the appropriate resource. Communicate the necessary documents needed.iPrepare department correspondence.iCreate and maintain Veterans Services communications materials and website. iiMinimum QualificationsAssociateis degree in business related field plus three years of relevant work experience or a bacheloris degree plus one year of relevant work experience. iComparable combination of education and experience may be considered. iPreferred QualificationsExperience in a human resources office preferred.
