Supervisor, Environmental Services helps provide direct leadership and guidance to staff to ensure that high level of cleanliness, quality and service is achieved and maintained. Maintain a high level of cleanliness in assigned areas. May work closely with other departments to coordinate projects, room moves, room turn overs, etc. Assign personnel to established work areas or project duties. Depending upon location, may assist with coverage in areas of housekeeping and laundry during staffing shortages. Plan and coordinate project work to ensure that proper frequencies are maintained. Ensure that staff receive proper orientation, initial training and ongoing education. Ensure that proper supply control guidelines are followed and staff is trained in the use of all chemicals. Use a proactive approach to identifying and correcting facility quality assurance concerns. Provide and monitor individual guidance and motivation to associates to enable each one to perform to fullbest potential. Ensure high quality percentage of clean is maintained in areas of assignment. Perform Quality Assurance Inspections as assigned. Monitor daily equipment use, cleaning and maintenance. Ensure that all equipment is clean and professional in appearance at all times. Prepare associate disciplinary and variance reports and conduct follow-up investigation as needed, reporting findings to appropriate leader. Participate in department safety and maintain a safe work environment at all times. Report all unsafe equipment and acts. Assure that the integrity of security at the facility is maintained at all times. Ensure office, storage and closets are clean, organized, well maintained and professional in appearance at all times. Assist with JCAHO compliance. This positon may have access to areas where medications are stored in order to perform their specific job related functions. Participate in staff selection process. Interview candidates as needed. Schedule days off, holidays and vacations, ensuring that facility's needs are met in accordance with budgeted hours and the department position control. Review duty lists with regular and relief associates periodically, provide assistance to ensure duty lists are revised and current at all times, help to maintain records and make sure log books are current and maintain all necessary documentation. Monitor service binders in assigned areas on a daily basis taking appropriate action to resolve concerns/comments. Depending upon location and availability of programs, may have access to use of OneChart as well as will have access to pagers and other technology that they will be responsible to use appropriately when needed. Respond to concerns and requbests with a sense of urgency and take necessary corrective action including timely follow-up. Depending upon location, may provide backup assistance for approving timecards, assisting with evaluations, getting schedules out, delivering and ordering of supplies.


Leads the definition of team mission and objectives for a variety of teams. Delivers written and oral communication, responds to questions and concerns, and produce specific outcomes and impact. Tracks the implementation of plans closely to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved. Provides customer support on difficult problems. Shifts focus among several efforts as required by changing priorities. Learns and uses resources the organization has to assess and enhance team motivation. Uses basic features of two or more Office applications. Recognizes issues that can result in health/safety risks in different work environments. Monitors the performance of sterilization and disinfection team to achieve and improve the quality and efficacy. Evaluates and makes contributions to best practices. Exhibits a personal standard of excellence marked by honesty and integrity.



Must attend all monthly departmental meetings or review meeting minutes. Annually attend Infection Control and Safety In-services as specified in Personnel policy. High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to use computer and prefer supervisory experience.
