Tyson Foods Controller I - Dakota Dunes, SD in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota

This position is responsible for leading Product Optimization Reviews and Product Costing for the Fresh Meats Division. This includes synthesizing information from numerous sources (Operations, Sales, Scheduling, plant locations, etc.), analyzing trends, review and investigate opportunities, and providing clear explanations of product costings. The Product Optimization Review and Product Costings are utilized by our Pricing Desk to make pricing decisions, therefore, accuracy and analysis of the information generated by this position is critical. This position must be able to navigate dynamic environments, demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and meet deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to success.

Other key duties include: lead bi-weekly Product Optimization meetings including insights to key trends and outliers; lead monthly Product Reviews; maintain product costing files real-time; and serve as a collaborative business partner providing insight and information to drive performance.


Education: Accredited Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting Finance major preferred. 12 hours minimum Accounting required.

Experience: 3 plus years supervisory experience; Pork/Beef product knowledge or related experience a plus.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft EXCEL and data base systems. Experience with Tyson Fresh Meats yield systems is beneficial.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.

Special Skills: Analytical and data management skills are essential.

Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
