Tyson Foods Engineer III in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota
SUMMARY: This position is a part of the Electrical Engineering group. Responsibilities for this position include: developing initial project electrical concepts and preliminary electrical designs; developing electrical estimates and project electrical schedules; perform detailed electrical design; develop electrical equipment specifications; analyze electrical equipment submittals and recommend the candidates for successful vendor; develop detailed electrical installation bid packages; analyze electrical installation bids and recommend the candidates for successful bidder; prepare equipment and installation requisitions based on the bids for order generation by Corporate purchasing; provide electrical project management services to ensure the installation meets the project specifications; provide electrical project start-up assistance to ensure the installation is operating as designed and specified; maintain a good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code; applicable state and local codes, and accepted electrical engineering practices.
Education: B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience; Electrical engineering preferred.
Experience: 5+ years' applicable engineering experience. Experience with design and construction of industrial electrical systems, power, distribution, instrumentation and/or controls a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred.
Specific Skills: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; ability to complete projects on time and on budget; good knowledge of a variety of the Electrical Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures.
