Job Description

This position is responsible for all or part of the following duties and responsibilities; handling all Mortgage related questions and concerns with speed and professionalism, making Mortgage related outbound calls or web inquiries to insurance companies to verify insurance, working the outbound call queue and the outbound max queue, and/or, working the Escrow Work Queue Images with accuracy while meeting benchmarks. This position supports the Mortgage Supervisor, and all others on the Mortgage Operations Department team.Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle all Mortgage incoming and outbound calls with little supervision and according to procedures

  • Work the Mortgage outbound call queue and the outbound max queue by making outbound calls or web verifications

  • Accurately compose written information for loan histories

  • Thoroughly understand Hazard forced placed certificates, procedures, and consequences of not following the correct processes and/or procedures

  • Accurately verify, key, and/or memo insurance information in relation to all Mortgage product types

  • Process insurance information received from agents, lenders and borrowers on the tracking system

  • Accurately work escrow pre-processing which includes understanding how to call agents and companies to obtain bills and enter them into the system properly

  • Review Mortgage coverage type’s insurance policies for FEMA, Dodd Frank, etc. type rules, and regulation.

  • Effectively and professionally present Mortgage Solutions procedures as needed

  • Follows up and resolves problems or issues with little to no direction from supervisor or Mortgage Solutions Specialist III

  • Handles unique processes with little to no direction from supervisor or Mortgage Solutions Specialist III

  • Distribute and exchange information with others

  • Meet or exceed set goals and assigned workload expectations for productivity

  • Report any system related issues

  • Assist supervisor with special projects

  • Assist with mentoring of other employees in the Mortgage Operations Department as required

  • Answers questions, corrects errors, and resolves discrepancies

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):

  • High school diploma/GED

  • 2 or more years of Mortgage experience preferred

  • Data entry and keyboard knowledge required

  • Audit/Certifications with satisfactory or above scores

  • Call Center experience preferred

  • Hazard and/or Escrow knowledge preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of Hazard insurance preferred

  • Excellent knowledge of Escrow and Premium Due Invoices preferred

  • Understands the consequences of process flows

  • Has obtained “outstanding” or “exceptional” audits

  • Ability to remain effective under pressure

  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills required

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and to be pulled into a project and/or provided back up to team at a moment’s notice

  • Ability to provide accurate and quick daily reports of outstanding images to be worked

  • Ability to read and apply commonsense understanding to simple instructions, short correspondence, oral/written instructions and memos

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities

  • Is dependable and reliable

  • Strong customer service focus required with the ability to follow up and resolve customer problems or issues

  • Understanding of CPI, FOH, and Escrow concepts and procedures

  • Understanding of Mortgage insurance policy concepts including coverage’s and effective dates

  • Excellent telephone, written, and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and is self-motivated

  • Professional interaction with employees, peers, and customers

  • Answers questions, corrects errors, and resolves discrepancies

  • Ability to learn quickly

  • Understands and follows departmental procedures

  • Ability to effectively and professionally present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel

  • Excellent keyboarding skills
