The purpose of the loader is to supply the machines with flats of shell eggs ensuring they never run out while keeping pace with production. Three loaders must supply the lines with flats of shell eggs. They should be able to lift and carry 6 flats of eggs at a time (approximately 20-30 lbs.) safely, ensuring that the lines never run out.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Loaders constantly transfer flats of shell from conveyors into inspection, picking up to 6 flats at a time safely from a nearby skid.
Makes sure that the area around the machines being loaded is clean and neat.
Transfers stacks of eggs from conveyor belt, into inspection.
Must haul out racks; stack, tie, and pick up all material neatly in the proper amounts and heights.
Checks the egg quality (dirt, cracks, checks, etc.).
Takes care of all of the eggs stuck to the flats.
Removes, stacks, and washes empty flats from belts.
Must dump the inedible buckets from the machines being loaded after the end of shift clean up.
Before going to break, responsible for cleaning up entire work area.
Must be able to follow all of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures.
Must be able to follow all of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) procedures; “washing hands, etc.” throughout the day.
Must be able to follow all of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
Responsible for spraying down and cleaning up the equipment and floor in order to meet the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) specifications .
Adheres to safe work practices, following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions and ensuring that product quality is maintained. Reports to management if any conditions or practices may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Able to perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
No prior education or training
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Capable of standing on a hard surface for most of the shift.
Available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.
Ability to read and understand operating procedures.
Skills needed in performing basic math computations.
Capable of repeatedly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in damp, humid, and warm environments.
Capable of climbing steps and ladders in order to perform specific tasks.
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
Open to change.
Positive interpersonal relationships.
Able to work independently and with others in a team environment.
Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
