AGENCY MISSION:i It is the mission of the Center for Independence to assist individuals with developmental disabilities to participate as essential members of the communities of their choice.i Through instruction, advocacy and support, we will assure that people experience friendship, opportunities to serve and independence.less thanbr>less thanbr>GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:i To facilitate the development of organizational structures, which enable the implementation of the mission, board policy, assures the creation of services to support postive outcomes for individuals and assures the stability of the organization.less thanbr>less thanbr>ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:iiless thanul>less thanli>Reports directly to the Board of Directors.iless than/li>less thanli>This is Level 8 position.less than/li>less than/ul>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:iless thanul>less thanli>Shall be responsible for the financial affairs of the agency.i Shall submit an annual budget to the Board of Directors in June of each year and shall have the responsibility of implementing suchibudget.less than/li>less thanli>Responsible for informing the Board of Directors of the agency's financial status through the preparation of monthly financial statement using generally accepted accounting principles.less than/li>less thanli>Provides the board with policy recommendations and assures the implementation ofiboard policy.less than/li>less thanli>Serves on the Governing Board of Directors as a non-elected, voting member and provides initial orientation and on-going education and information to members to aid in their ability to fulfill their roles.less than/li>less thanli>Directs the creation or modification of services as necessary to assure progress toward accomplishment of the agency mission.less than/li>less thanli>Responsible for the development of resources essential to accomplish the organizational mission.less than/li>less thanli>Interpret trends in the organization's fields of service and programs.less than/li>less thanli>Assures the maintenance of professional standards in administrative handling of personnel issues and the adherence to established policies.less than/li>less thanli>Analyze systems in place to ensure all regulatory and compliance requirements are met.less than/li>less thanli>Responsible to direct the completion of theiagency's annual cost reports to the State of South Dakota and Federal Agencies.less than/li>less thanli>To assure that an annual audit, with meets the requirements oficonstituents, is completed.less than/li>less thanli>Oversee the administration of the Center for Independence Foundation.less than/li>less thanli>Responsible for public relations.i Serves as primary spokesperson and advocate for the organization.less than/li>less thanli>To perform all other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary bu the Board of Directors.less than/li>less than/ul>QUALIFICATIONS:less thanul>less thanli>Education:i An advance degree in healthcare, business management or related human services field preferred.less than/li>less thanli>Experience:i Five or more years of progressive, senior management.less than/li>less thanli>Other:i Strong leadership capability.i Knowledge of, and the ability to, effectively implement management principles.less than/li>less thanli>Maintain a valid South Dakota Drivers's License.less than/li>less than/ul>less thanbr>less thanbr>
