SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION

Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) communicate directly with customers and respond to a variety of customer needs and requests. The majority of communication is via phone interactions but does include other channels such as: web, fax, mail, and email. CSRs take into account organizational values as they commit to meeting the needs of customers. CSRs are subject to call monitoring.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics

  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives

  • Work a 24x7 schedule rotation that will include core hours, nights, weekends, holidays, and availability for emergency call outs

  • Follow established service order closing processes to stop and start customer billing

  • Meet or exceed performance standards as determined by NorthWestern Energy

  • Ability to understand and explain rate information and bill calculations

  • Administers credit program within prescribed scope

  • Listen and respond appropriately to customer needs while reviewing and entering data on a computer

  • Type memos, e-mails, and other correspondence in an accurate, timely manner

  • Respond to all customer requests and emergency situations professionally and accurately by following established policy and procedures

  • Perform calculations to determine customer payments and other account related activity

  • Work effectively in a team environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Successful completion of requisite training program

  • Must be able to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

  • Proficient typing skills

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and other computer applications

  • Excellent attendance record
