Terex Corporation Plant Operations Manager in Huron, South Dakota
Position Description: Responsible for Direction and Management of all Manufacturing Operations to meet the organization’s production schedule within a timely, cost efficient, safe manner while meeting all Quality Standard’s in support of the organizations short and long-range objectives.
Define and recommend production/manufacturing objectives to meet the organizations short and long range objectives.
Direct the Department’s Supervisors in the execution of their responsibilities to ensure meeting the organization’s objectives for producing and shipping the quality and quantity of products scheduled each month.
Confer with Management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budgets and cost controls and obtain data regarding types, specifications, quantities and delivery dates.
Plan and Direct production/manufacturing activities and establish production/manufacturing priorities.
Recommend and implement measures to improve production/manufacturing methods, equipment performance and quality.
Interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, prepare performance appraisals, reward and discipline employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. Review performance of production/manufacturing against operating plans. Provide reports to management and subordinates on results and developing contingency plans if needed to meet objectives.
BS/BA Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or in equivalent field
Minimum of 5 years experience in the Manufacturing field
3 + years managing a Manufacturing Operation.
Should be knowledgeable with and trained in the following areas; MRP/ERP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, TQM, Principles of Health, Safety and Environment, ISO/Quality Programs.
Should have a knowledge of machining, fabrication, welding, paint processes, assembly/heavy hydraulic electromechanical assembly.
Should have strong computer skills in MS Office.
Travel Requirements: Will require 5% to 10% travel
