They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified.SUMMARYGrain Operators are responsible for running the corn dryer, blending and grading of grains and overseeing the loading and unloading of trucks and rail for DDGs and Ethanol. Employment for this position is conditioned upon successfully passing certain pre-employment requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSResponsible for blending grain to specification, overseeing truck loading and unloading, grain grading, and rail load out for DDGs and EthanolResponsible for achieving goals set out by the shipping and receiving departmentResponsible for the proper grading of grains and commercial level grain blendingResponsible for the loading and unloading of trucks and rail for DDGS and EthanolOperating heavy equipment (i.e. pay-loader, track mobile, etc.) safety and accuratelyFollows established policies and procedures required to ensure proper operation of corn dryer and grain gradingUses good judgment in operating parameters for the corn dryerCommunicate corn dryer performance to the Grain ManagerEffectively communicate with other departments to keep them informed and resolve issues relating to the corn dryer and grain receivingParticipates in maintenance planning to determine proper operation of corn dryerAssist in the training of others in the operation of the corn dryer, grain grading, and grain receivingSafe work practices are a condition of employment. Report any safety issue or problem to your supervisor and safety coordinator immediatelyFocus on continuous improvement in all aspects of the jobMaintain a team environment with all other plant departmentsActively promote GLEs vision, mission, and values with employees, outside vendors, and customersBe depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from workBe depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough mannerMaintain high level of customer serviceOther duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIESHigh school diploma or equivalent is preferredPrefer 1 to 3 years experience in grain blending at a commercial level.Prefer 1 to 3 years experience in grain grading and sample retention.Prior experience working with producers and transportation personnel in grain receiving is highly desiredTechnical expertise in functional area is highly desiredMust be able to operate heavy equipment such as pay-loader, track mobile, etc.CDL preferredMust be a self-starter, highly organized; able to work well within all levels in the organizationGood customer service skillsMust have basic computer skillsMust be able to communicate clearly in EnglishPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTMust be able to manage confined space entry, climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbsMust be able to adapt to outside work environments which could include cold, heat, wind, rain, snow and slippery surfaces.Individual will be exposed to high noise levelsData entry while seated for greater than one (1) hourOccasionally bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights of less than fifty (50) poundsWalking of two (2) or more miles per dayStanding for extended periods of timeElevated work requiredStarting Wage: $18.00/hrGlacial Lakes Energy is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
