Performance Pet Plant Mechanical Maintenance (1st Shift) in Mitchell, South Dakota

We offer a complete benefits package, paid time off, paid holidays and birthday holiday, great team members, and more!Areas of Accountability All areas of accountability to be delivered in a manner that aligns with the values and business strategy of Farmers Union Industries.Equipment Maintenance Equipment InstallationEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork safely following all company safety policies, practices, procedures and improvement initiativesComply with all regulatory compliance requirements regarding environmental, and food/feed safetyRead and understand warnings, manuals and wiring schematicsMaintain, repair, and install plant equipment to OEM standardsPerform routine preventative equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and service to ensure reliability and equipment uptimeMaintain a clean work environment to ensure safety and product qualityCommunicate any accidents, threats, downtime, or cost-saving measures to the shift supervisorAssist other production and maintenance personnel as needed or requestedSituations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal work load. QualificationsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED), preferred1-3 years experience working on mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environmentBoiler experience/certification, desiredHVAC/Refrigeration experience/certification, desiredExperience in food/feed production, desiredMechanically inclined and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to operate welders, torches, and cuttersAbility operate bobcats, forklifts, tractors, trucks and Simons liftAbility to maintain and service material handling equipmentAbility to communicate and accurately maintains recordsAbility to understand and operate basic computer systems
