Proper specimen collection, handling and corresponding orders for diagnostic testing.
Performance and appropriate documentation of diagnostic testing.
Performs calibration, quality control checks, and preventative maintenance steps on assigned instrumentation.
Performance of testing in accordance with regulatory and compliance guidelines.
Assigned special projects/functions as determined by Laboratory Director.
Maintaining clinical competency through on-going education and professional development.
Rotate with other lab staff to cover urgent care shifts; occasional early morning, evening and Saturday shifts required.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited two year-college program or technical school.
Six months to one year of related experience or training preferred.
Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician from the ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required within 12 months of hire.
