The IoT Azure Developer role sits within Johnson & Johnson’s R&D Product Technology Innovation group whose mission is to reach more patients and restore more lives. •Partner with R&D Medical Device Product Lines to deliver innovative IoT solutions.
•Develop the technical solutions that demonstrate microservices and APIs that interface with devices, the platform data layer and third-party services
•Develop applications and services using Azure tools and technologies, including storage, security, compute, and communications
•Stay informed on IoT and cloud technologies, understand trends and opportunities to demonstrate for J&J Digital Surgery platform
•Demonstrate a strong focus on innovation, mindset to create best-in-class add-value solutions
•Write code and deliver proof of concept for IoT solutions to advance J&J DS platform capabilities
•Collaborate with Web App (front-end) teams to develop product features and services
•Partner with project team to deliver on the IoT development, and architecture
•Partner with the R&D Medical Device Product Development organizations to understand their IoT needs, develop use cases, generate UML diagrams, and develop overall solution requirements including application definition, integration, security, and system configurations
•Work on Agile teams and SCRUM units to launch innovative solutions following software development processes
•Delivering on requirements from different directions, always orienting yourself to the concrete needs of the patient
•Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Computer Science, IT, or related Engineering is required
Experience and Skills:
•At least 3 years of practical work experience in an IT, engineering, or related technical field is required
•One or more years of developer experience with Azure is required
•Proficient knowledge across various IoT platform modules, including: networking, virtualization, identity, security, and data management required
•Demonstrate a track record of delivery of IoT cloud solutions required
•Ability to learn and master new technologies and tools in a fast-paced environment required
•Hands-on experience developing solutions with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) on Azure platform, including but not limited to developing microservices, web services, REST APIs, and containerized solutions with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Container Registry (ACR) required
•Hands-on Azure application development with Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) services (IoT suite, Service Bus, Event Hub, etc.) required
•Ability to strictly adhere to and enforce development best practices and coding standards required
•Experience in DevOps and CI/CD required
•Working proficiency in programming languages and modern cloud development tools including but not limited to: Node.js, C/C++/C#, Java, Python, Azure SDKs, CLI, portal and other tools required
•Working knowledge of IoT Modules and Protocols including IoT Hub, IoT Edge, HTTP/TCP, AMQP, MQTT, Web Sockets, Telemetry data processing, File processing, deep knowledge of video files required
•This position may be located anywhere in the US with a strong preference towards Cincinnati, Ohio and Somerville, NJ
•Experience with multi cloud solutions, global deployments, cloud-based distributed application scaling and data processing preferred
•Strong knowledge of cloud data and storage technologies, relational and NoSQL databases, Azure platform data ingress and egress processes i.e. Data flow design, Azure Cosmos DB and blob storage, SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL database systems such as Cassandra/DSE, Mongo preferred
•Proficient knowledge and experience with Cloud Security including but not limited to encryption, identity and access management, authentication, authorization, etc. preferred
•Certification in other cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) preferred
•Experience with GxP, HIPAA, HITRUST, GDPR compliance preferred
•Understanding of Bigdata and cognitive Services: Machine Learning (ML) and Data Analytics preferred
•Knowledge of HL7 and FHIR data models preferred
•Certification in Microsoft Cloud Technologies preferred
•Up to 25% travel, domestic and international is required
