General Electric Lead Fabrication & Mechanical Procurement Specialist - H/F in Pierre, South Dakota

Role Summary:

The Lead Fabrication & Mechanical Procurement Specialist will be responsible of on-Time-Delivery of materials/ components for production line and sub-contractors

The Lead Fabrication & Mechanical Procurement Specialist will manage stock & vendor relations

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the given commodity within wind offshore business to own purchasing requisitions and to track MRP releases on weekly basic and highlight any MRP miss or gap

  • Create Purchase Orders as per wind offshore work instruction

  • Be responsible to collect PO acknowledgement from suppliers and ensure proper archiving

  • Hold kick-off meetings with suppliers after PO release to flow down in detail components’ schedule

  • Lead and drive suppliers for excellent OTD (on time delivery) as per the business metrics and escalate delivery delays pro-actively to the procurement leaders

  • Collaborate cross function to pro-actively catch upcoming delays and drive the supplier to recovery plan as necessary, report progress to the stakeholders and procurement leaders

  • Be reactive on non-conformities management, 2 days target to reorder material in case of material to be replaced

  • Optimize stock in collaboration with the inventory team and the suppliers for the given commodity

  • Pull-in and Push-out assurance : closely collaborate with suppliers about such new request, then formalize the PO update in SAP once the new Contractual Dates are agreed

  • Be a garant for GE’s policies starting by NO PO/NO PAY and the Spirit and the Letter

  • Be fully responsible to deliver and close PO on the ERP systems, in addition, clean and close any invoicing related issues

  • Manage LOB and work with sourcing to secure vendor capacity and inventory level

  • Manage ECN (define application range and application into the vendors)

  • Be a source of proposals, initiate and lead continuous improvement intiatives crossfunctionally: MRP configuration, material flow, non-conformity management, etc. Escalate suppliers issues and share lessons learned while collaborating with the supplier quality team

  • Support and collaborate with sourcing strategy team as well as Supplier quality team on parts qualifications and expedite the timeline where needed

  • Coordinate with Warehouse on good receipt, invoices, delivery issues

  • Manage vendor Non Conformity replacements, return to vendors and Vendor Bill Back

  • Insure on time vendor payments through tracking of invoice clearance

  • Drive Digital tools and enhancement in supplier collaborations and metrix

EHS

  • Comply with EHS policy

  • Participate in the deployment and compliance with legal requirements and internal EHS

  • Identification of risks that affect their area or field of work and define / propose means of prevention and adequate protection to prevent them

  • Active participation in the development of courses and proposals for improvement to avoid incidents and accidents

  • Educate and train in work procedures / instructions concerning them safe for their duties

KPIs

  • Goals & Objectives to be achieved (100% PO placed on time, MRP messages management)

  • PO execution and closure with no litigation

  • On-time-delivery: 99% of owned POs delivered on time (need date vs supplier delivery date)

  • 0% aged invoicing on the given commodity

Qualifications/Requirements:

Technical skills

  • MRP and planning (advanced level)

  • Supply chain management

  • Advanced knowledge in Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen activities

  • Technical competencies ( read a drawing, understand manufacturing process)

Informatics

  • Be able to use Microsoft Office pack

  • Be able to use SAP

  • Master in Excel (VBA would be a plus)
