Role Summary:

Leads multiple architectural engagements. Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge within a domain: technical, solutions, business or information. Leads domain specific architecture. Works across multiple technical and functional domains. Serves as SME for Current’s Digital architecture – from edge to cloud.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to the development of project and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components across multiple teams that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different Digital products within Current.

  • Lead and coordinate the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction across multiple teams and complex product line.

  • Analyze, design and develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.

  • Review and/or analyze and develop architectural at domain level and across multiple teams.

  • Participate in the EA business-wide and domain governance model.

  • Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities to for multiple teams or complex scenarios.

  • Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentor others throughout the domain.

  • Lead the product design to ensure scalability and reliability at enterprise-scale for Current’s customers. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a technical area (Architecture, Software, or Information Technology) or a Master’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology or Software.Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel 10%

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA,, Glen Allen, VA, or Other US Cities Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience working with energy applications and/or building controls highly desirable.

  • Experience with architecture/designing micro-services using services in Current Digital’s technology stack, which includes Spark, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ.

  • Recognizes patterns and complexity in problems. Extracts decomposition algorithms, and strategically plans how to execute programs by understanding how best to decompose to expose / protect against risk

  • Thorough knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle principles

  • Real-world experience in stream processing data pipelines, with deep insights on scaling (including cluster management), high availability systems, message queues/brokers and APIs.

  • Experience leading domain technical and business discussions relative to future architecture direction aligning with business goals.

  • Demonstrate strong technical leadership and people management skills including strong communication and analytical skills with thorough understanding of product development

  • Ability to gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level, aligning architectural requirements with software development strategy.

  • Review exceptions and makes recommendations to architectural standards at a domain level.

  • Experience developing, motivating, and directing employees to create a team environment.

  • Collaborate with project management on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits.

  • Meet with project leaders and software development Leaders to ensure progress towards architectural alignment with project goals and requirements.

  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale.

  • Challenges conventional thinking and traditional ways of operating and invites stakeholders to identify issues and opportunities.

  • Takes a systems perspective that inter-relates internal and external factors for planning.
