This newly created position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated agricultural sales and marketing professional.

Scope:This position is responsible for semi-specialty sales in the United States. Including development and education of a diverse customer base and presenting and promoting ICL’s semi-specialty product lines in the United States.

Main responsibilities:

Develop sales/marketing efforts of semi-specialty products in the United States:

  • Sales growth and increased share at current key customers

  • Establish and develop new customers

  • Customer relationships with Purchasing, Agronomy, R&D & Marketing

  • Customer Profiles, Relationship Plans and Targets

  • Achieving targeted volume and price goals

  • Identifies and targets growth opportunities by customer with resource plans to support customer growth objectives

  • Contract and pricing management of customers including logistics coordination

  • Manage interface between our customers and Technical Support

  • Strong contributor to the development and identification of growth opportunities and competitive threats via customer and market understanding and communicating the same back to the organization.

  • Understand the market and competitor trends and communicating the same back to the organization

  • Volume Forecasts from Customer base

Teaching, presenting, publishing

  • Present commercial presentations to customers and opinion makers

  • Present commercial presentations at fertilizers conferences and customer events

  • Arrange and introduce semi-specialty product training sessions to our customers

Interfaces

  • Internal interfaces: ICL Fertilizers US sales agronomists; St Louis office; HQ Israel; ICLSF (report, update, liaise, educate; receive inputs and market requirements)

  • External interfaces: direct and potential customers; farmers and field level agronomists; researchers at universities; high ranking ministry officials; liaise with country and global NGO entities relevant to research and promotion activities

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including dispute resolution

  • Demonstrated experience in sales growth with new products

  • Highly developed communication skills appropriate for all business situations

  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating in difficult and complex situations

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changes

  • Able to drive opportunity development, and prioritize, and manage multiple projects in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; strong personal presence both with customers and internally to ICL

  • Up to 50% travel in the first year. Thereafter approximately 25%

Required Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree is required (preferably in business or agronomy)

  • A minimum of 7 years agricultural industry experience in marketing and sales
