Job Description Summary
Travelers is seeking an experienced Workspace Engineer that will drive the technical implementation and support of Microsoft Office 365. Responsibilities include management of all Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Exchange Online and tenant administration. This role requires a Microsoft 365 subject matter expert across all features and services. This individual must have hands-on design, implementation and support experience around the major dependencies of Microsoft 365 solutions. This candidate should be forward-thinking and have excellent engineering skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers. Must be able to develop and/or implement large, complex technology solutions and ensure the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of critical IT systems for our internal customers.
Engineer and support all aspects of Microsoft 365 platform, including Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive and Exchange Online
Manage and support the migration of Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams for Audio/Video Conferencing and Voice
Manage and support the migration of Exchange on premise to Exchange Online
Deliver expert consulting, design and engineering support to customers across multiple Unified Communication and Collaboration products
Interface directly with the end users, project teams and 3rd parties to provide support
Work closely with other technology teams to develop and maintain a reliable, secure and supportable unified communications and collaboration ecosystem
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems
Partner with Operations Teams to develop and maintain a proactive monitoring and alerting system for all M365 services
Align, engage and coordinate activities across Cyber, Legal/Compliance, and other Infrastructure teams on program deliverables
Provide knowledge transfer to operations and support teams
Engineer solutions in coordination with business and security teams around Azure Information Protection, DLP, retention policies, legal holds, and conditional access
Coordinating customer expectations according to product capabilities and align to internal processes and solutions
Deliver reporting and trending information across the companies unified communication platforms, providing periodic management updates on progress, escalations
Participate in multiple aspects of delivery life-cycle which includes technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of Unified Communication technologies.
Stay up to date with Microsoft's roadmap and align without client's technical roadmap
Subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive and Exchange Online
Subject matter expert for Skype for Business (including Enterprise Voice) and Exchange, and experience with migrations to Microsoft 365
Hand’s on experience with Microsoft 365 tenant configuration (MS Teams, Exchange Administration, etc.) using various deployment scenarios and hybrid/interoperability setup
Experience deploying and configuring Skype for Business Enterprise Voice as well as integration with Exchange/Office 365 Unified Messaging
Understanding of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 User, license, and group management
Familiarity with security components specific to Azure Information Protection (AIP), Data Leakage Prevention (DLP), Advanced eDiscovery and Conditional Access capabilities.
Experience deploying and configuring Exchange, Mass Mail Solutions, MS SharePoint, and related Collaborative Products
Solid overall Microsoft skills
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or its equivalent in work experience, plus five years of experience in Technology required;
Alternatively, a Master's degree in CS or a related field and three years of work experience in Technology
Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
Ten years of experience in Technology preferred.
Three years of experience as a technical lead preferred.
Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.
