Vista Care South Dakota Service and Support Director (SSD) in Pierre, South Dakota

Area of ResponsibilityTo be responsible for the overall management and operations of designated locations to include services, personnel and administration. The Service and Support Director (SSD) may delegate certain specified tasks, but is ultimately responsible for ensuring all delegated tasks are completed in accordance to policies and procedure. The SSD position ensures the delivery of high-quality services and supports through consistent compliance with Vista Care's mission and associated policies. The responsibilities ensure the people we support are treated with dignity and respect.Minimum QualificationsA four-year degree and 1 year of related supervisory experience is preferred but an equivalent combination of 5 years education and experience will be considered. Background as a Service and Support Director at Vista Care is considered supervisory experience, provided the employee is in good standing in terms of disciplinary action. Prior experience in residential services and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities is desirable. The individual must consistently demonstrate effective decision-making abilities, strong communication skills and computer literacy.Individual must successfully complete all State of South Dakota requirements within 90 days of accepting the position, which includes a successful background check prior to the first day.Physical qualifications include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, reach and stand on a continual basis. Prompt and regular attendance is a requirement outlined within our Vista Care attendance policy.Driving RequirementThe SSD is required to use their own vehicle or those owned and/or leased by Vista Care. This responsibility may include transporting people we support. A valid South Dakota driver's license and level of personal liability insurance is required by Vista Care and must remain effective at all times.Benefit CategoryAs a full-time salaried position, the SSD is eligible to participate in all company insurance benefits, 401K plan, and paid time off accruals following required waiting periods.Hours WorkedThe SSD position is full-time exempt. The schedule must be flexible to accommodate the various programs, personnel and organizational needs including after hour emergencies, phone calls, and assigning replacement staff for on-call responsibilities. In the absence of trained staff, the SSD may be required to fulfill the responsibilities of their direct reports.ResponsibilitiesQuality/Program1.To be responsible for services provided and implement the Vista Care mission within designated locations.2.To assure that all services provided are of the highest quality possible.3.
