Role Summary:

This position is responsible for providing corrosion engineering leadership for the development of BHGE Digital’s corrosion monitoring and management IIoT software products.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work closely with customers primarily in the Oil & Gas industry to understand and prioritize their corrosion management challenges; engage them in dialogues and workshops to define innovative, digitally enabled corrosion fighting solutions; and collaborate with other product management and technical product management team members to establish a corrosion solution product roadmap and bring new corrosion tools and analytical capabilities to market. Based on your real-world experience, you will provide guidance help the product development team in understanding and defining how new capabilities will integrate with ecosystems of other applications and tools used in the market, and you will be recognized as a technical authority on corrosion with customers, speak publicly about our team’s work, and provide technical leadership regarding corrosion mechanisms, techniques, regulations, and mitigation strategies to our product development team.

  • Be responsible for providing technical leadership to define and design software for our corrosion offerings in a fast-paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure

  • Author corrosion management solution requirements for development to translated into products, evaluate technical proposals and product developments to ensure applicability abd accuracy, and author thought-leadership articles related to corrosion management

  • Provide corrosion subject matter guidance to technical product managers, developers, and quality assurance engineers

  • Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) within BHGE Digital as well as adjacent businesses to define innovative solutions & vision

  • Capture system level requirements by brainstorming with the Product Line Leader, Sr. Architects, Businesses & Product Managers

  • Lead impact assessments and decisions related to technology choices, design /architectural considerations and implementation strategy.

  • Be recognized as the subject matter expert in corrosion processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situations. Expert in navigating through ambiguity and prioritizing conflicting asks.

  • Expert in corrosion engineering acquired through a combination of academic and hands-on career experience Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master’s degree with 8 years of experience OR PhD with 5 years of experience.

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completedEligibility Requirements:

  • Experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry

  • Expertise in the selection of materials and corrosion control strategies to optimize lifecycle integrity of oil & gas facilities and pipelines

  • Expertise in corrosion prediction software and NDT methods and technology

  • Able to effectively advocate and educate both internal and external audiences on the techniques and decisions being pursued in the product roadmap and lead a community of practice around corrosion
