The Risk Management Compliance and Security (RMCS) Consultant is responsible for contributing to the RMCS Team efforts in providing assistance to clients to meet NERC compliance and enforcement requirements. This includes assisting in efforts enhancing clients understanding of compliance processes, addressing registration issues, developing internal compliance programs, audit preparation, and assessing approahes to violation mitigation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist (or lead) in client engagements to ensure timely and accurate deliverables;
Identify potential clients and initiate outreach to develop client leads into project engagements;
Support the RMCS service line development activities;
Support in the development of RMCS promotional/marketing materials;
Develop or assist in the development of thought pieces for publication in appropriate industry journals;
Contribute to Compliance Service Team initiatives, such as participation in webinars, workshops, industry meetings and client outreach efforts;
Regularly participate in internal RMCS activity coordination calls; and
Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
Working knowledge of the NERC mandatory standards, compliance processes and enforcement approaches.
Knowledge of audit and internal control approaches is beneficial.
Knowledge of Cyber and Physical Security standards and methodologies.
2-3 years of experience addressing NERC compliance issues.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to manage and solve complex issues and problems.
Exceptional negotiation and conflict management skills.
Excellent collaboration and team building skills.
Additional desired attributes include:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access.
Familiarity with FERC regulatory practices.
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
Generally works in an office environment
