Black Hills Federal Credit Union Agricultural Loan Manager in RAPID CITY, South Dakota

General Purpose:i Responsible for developing an agricultural loan program and directing the overall operation of the Agricultural Loan Department.Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing and directing the agricultural loan program.i This includes recommending policies for Board approval and establishing internal procedures.Responsible for approving, rejecting, and processing agricultural loan applications; verifying applications for completeness; conducting credit investigations; determining value and status of collateral (if any); establishing a signature limit (if applicable); and documenting agricultural loans as per Credit Union policy and procedures.Facilitate agricultural lending by seeking potential clients.i Effectively explain Credit Unioniproducts and services.i Cross-sell products and services when appropriate.Responsible for conducting loan monitoring activities which may consist of member farm inspections, collateral monitoring, repayment and extensions of loans, reviewing appraisals, preparing annual reviews and other associated tasks.Provide input for the development of department budget consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget.i Implement and monitor the budgetary process for the department in conjunction with the Vice President Business and Mortgage Lending.Remain current on agricultural industry, including monitoring market intelligence.i Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive, and technology environments that may affect the operations function.i Implement operations procedures that are in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.iAssist the Vice President Business and Mortgage Lending with respect to recommendations for hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, training and development, and interpretation of credit union rules and policies for department personnel.i Conduct all personnel functions in accordance with applicable statutes (e.g., EEO, OSHA, Fair Labor, etc.)Conduct financial analysis of services designed to maximize profits and broaden services.i Prepare recommendations for the Vice President Business and Mortgage Lending with regard to changes in or adjustments of services for analysis and action.Establish, maintain, and monitor policies, procedures, and interinal controls.i Read, interpret, review, and comply with all federal and state legislation pertaining to the operations of the Agricultural Loan Department.Work with the Collection Department to execute legal repossession of collateral securing a delinquent agriculture loan; maintain collateral while in Credit Union's possession; and negotiate the sale of collateral.i Function as the Credit Union's representative while working with the Credit Union's attorney, small claims court, repossession companies, collection agencies, bankruptcy court, and Credit Union members.Other Duties/ResponsibilitiesPrepare standardized reports as directed by Management.Provide staff training on agricultural loan functions.Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Vice President Business and Mortgage Lending.Job KnowledgeKnowledgeable of the fundamentals of the financial industry, including but not limited to, the operation and delivery of financial services.Knowledge of diversified production agriculture and livestock enterprises.i Experienced in financial analysis and have an understanding of complex loan structures.iExperienced in loan documentation including the perfection of liens primarily on crops, livestock, inventory, machinery, and real property.Knowledgeable of laws and regulations affecting Credit Union operations.Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and to outside parties.Knowledgeable about the organization's policies/procedures and Credit Union's service philosophy.Ability to write and implement organization's policies/procedures.Must be able to read and interpret financial reports received from
