The Challenge

Job Description Summary

Provide high quality phone and email customer service support for GE employees, Friends, and Family members of GE employees, Home Ownership customers and Strategic Partners shopping on the GE Store includes consultative selling of GE products, placing and tracking orders, processing product returns and credits.

What you will Do

Essential Job duties

  • Provide phone and email customer service support for GE employees, Friends, and Family members of GE employees, Home Ownership customers and Strategic Partners shopping on the GE Store.

  • Provide consultative selling of GE products, placing and tracking orders; processing product returns and credits.

  • Assist with order tracking, delivery questions and product returns for GE Store purchases.

  • Handle GE Store e-mail response.

  • Administer satisfaction guaranteed returns and damage allowances.

  • Assist customers by inbound telephone calls for inquiries on GE products.

  • Processing on-line consumer sales.

  • Utilize sales techniques in maximizing closure rate.

  • Uses computer to access system information.

  • Provide training to any new team members.

  • Assist customers as needed to build customer satisfaction with GE.

  • Complete contract administration functions as needed.

  • Handle calls during defcon or as established.

  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Developer or Operations Director.

What you need to Succeed

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma and specialized or technical training required plus related company experience and on-the-job training.

  • Requires ability to analyze data and determine appropriate processing.

  • Requires in-depth knowledge of GEA products and contracts.

  • Strong PC skills and ability to effectively communicate via the Internet and CICS. Experience using OE Windows, DMS, Customer Net & other delivery related web-based programs a definite plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and good judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication proficiencies and exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Detail oriented, conscientious, strong sense of ownership with proven follow-through skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects at one time.

  • Prior technical experience in the consumer electronic and/or appliance service industry a plus.

  • Previous sales, inbound calls or customer service experience preferred.

  • Flexible hours including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Position may require frequently adjusted work schedules.

  • Acts with integrity, seeks leadership guidance as necessary yet acts autonomously to execute job responsibilities. Recommends and follows procedures as required for the position.
