SUMMARY

Sells welding supplies and gases to individuals in store or showroom as well as to individuals phoning in orders by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Greets customers in showroom and determines type of merchandise desired.

  • Takes phone orders.

  • Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

  • Demonstrates equipment to customer at MATHESON facility if needed.

  • Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.

  • Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.

  • Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.

  • Calculates sales discount to determine price.

  • Accepts payment and makes change.

  • Enters order into computer and prepares invoice.

  • Investigates and resolves customer problems.

  • Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.

  • Identifies any unmarked inventory and apply labels.

  • Helps collect payment on past due accounts.

  • Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.

  • Assists with semi-annual inventories.

  • High School Graduate with diploma and/or prior experience in outbound calling/inside sales, outside sales or marketing desirable.

  • Excellent customer service skills. Ability to establish and manage customer relationships

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrates a clear and effective speaking manner for the purpose of explaining information to customers and employees.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to learn MTG’s business/product types/organization/transaction systems

  • Excellent Telephone Communications Skills

  • Excellent Organizational Skills

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail).
