In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring Quality Control on welded products to ensure they meet quality and contract specifications. Responsibilities for this Welding Inspector position include :
Follow all safety standards designed by the company
Ensure all materials are completed accurately
Inspect welded materials and finished goods to ensure they comply with company standard
Review welding specs for each project and work with the team to overcome fabrication challenges
Review issues and work with on-site management to address resolutions for non-conformances and preventing future issues
Annual calibration of welding equipment, inspection equipment and re-qualifications for bolt
Remain current with all certifications, licenses, industry standards, and procedures
Assist in developing annual training programs for new and experienced employees
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications for this Welding Inspector position include:
Minimum of 5 years of welding experience
AWS Certified Weld Inspector or Associate Inspector is preferred but not required
High school diploma or GED
Knowledge of AWS, City of LA, API, UL or STI
Ability to motivate others to quality results
Ability to read blueprints
Ability to work with a variety of different people and personalities
Knowledge of GMAW, FCAW, and TIG desired
Ability to maintain a positive working attitude, problem solve, and flexibility to move from one project to the next
Ability to maintain equipment and keep a clean and safe work environment
Ability to work overtime as needed for company demand
This is a Monday- Friday position, that will require occasional overtime. Pay is $18.00- $23.00/hr depending upon experience plus time and a half for all overtime.
