Weekly Hours: 40.00
Entry level position for a candidate with limited laboratory research experience. Assists other research investigators by performing non-complex research and experimentation following established protocols. Performs routine lab and equipment maintenance, such as cleaning glassware, counter tops and equipment. May be responsible for calibration of instruments. Sets up and operates various scientific apparatus. Assists with research projects as directed. Makes intellectual contributions to current research activities and contributes to the design of experiments and new techniques. Prepares and weighs samples for testing and analysis. Conducts tests, assays and other protocols under the direction of a senior researcher. Properly documents procedural actions as well as results. Analyzes and/or summarizes findings. Reviews and researches current literature as directed by senior research investigator(s) related to current research projects.

Candidate must have at minimum a Bachelors degree in a biomedical or biomedical-related field (e.g., biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, molecular biology). Main responsibilities in the laboratory will include genotyping; establishment and maintenance of cultured cell lines; preparation of cell or animal samples for imaging, biochemical and genomic analyses; isolation and quantitation of DNA, RNA and protein; organizing and tracking laboratory inventory. Must be willing to perform tests, assays and procedures under direct supervision of a senior researcher, or independently, as required. Preferred that candidate have research experience, be a problem solver, and be willing to work with research animals.
Bachelor's degree in a health or life science field required.
