U.S. Bank CBSS Financial Crimes Support Manager in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

This position requires a high degree of knowledge related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), the USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and US Treasury AML guidelines, particularly as these apply to banking. The candidate must have extensive and practical knowledge with prior experience in US regulations. The position will focus on the business unit support for the Consumer Banking Sales and Support (“CBSS”) business line.

Job Responsibilities

The CBSS Financial Crimes Support Manager is responsible for managing a team of financial crimes control advisors who work closely with the business units and provide daily support in all financial crimes matters. In addition to day to day support, they also work directly with the business units on the following activities:

  • Development and implementation of financial crimes procedures

  • Completion of the EFCC financial crimes risk assessments

  • Offer guidance, support and approval on the development of remediation plans and timelines for issues identified

  • Provide direction on the Business Unit control environment

  • Review and approval of Business Change Risk Assessments

  • Review and approval of high risk customers

  • Act as a liaison between EFCC and the Business Units

  • Work directly with the CBSS Financial Crimes Program Oversight Team on training completion, procedures development, and regulatory changes serving as the liaison between the Program Oversight Team and the Business Units


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment

  • Applicable certifications

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies

  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications

  • Understanding of BSA, AML, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and other AML regulatory policies with the ability to apply and explain regulatory concepts

  • Understanding of products, customers and expected type of activity in order to effectively identify risk and suspicious activity

  • Adept at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines in high-pressure environment

  • Results oriented team player

  • Strong problem solving ability coupled with the ability make decisions autonomously
