Control Systems Developer - Support
Interstates is growing, and we are currently seeking a Control Systems Developer - Support to join our Support Team for our Sioux Center or Sioux Falls offices. The Control Systems Developer - Support will be responsible for control systems programming and implementation for our manufacturing clientele. Interstates seeks ambitious, innovative individuals with the ability to grow and maintain value-added relationships with our team and external customers.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Control System Programming: PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), and / or the HMI (Human Machine Interface), and databases, and thus could require programming in several PC languages.
Work within project teams consisting of clients, electrical engineers, control system programmers, and information system programmers to deliver integrated automation solutions.
Provide plant check-out, commissioning, and start-up services at customer sites.
Troubleshooting control system issues, helping support existing client applications, general client communication.
Other duties may be assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
2 or 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related technical field
Or equivalent combination of education and related experience/training
5-10 years of process controls experience
Knowledge in designing and developing control systems
Knowledge in HMI / SCADA programming, and PLC programming
Knowledge in the programming and configuration of Variable Frequency Drive
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Great communication (verbal, written, listening) and teamwork skills
Knowledge of manufacturing & mechanical systems
Ability to be on call for after hour customer support needs 5-10% of the time
Travel: This position is located in our Sioux Center or Sioux Falls office and travel may be required up to 20% of the time.
