Elior North America Director of Prepared Meals in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Position Summary:

The Director of Prepared Meals develops and oversee corrections prepared meals programs. Creates standardized programs for corrections. These services include, but are not limited to, Red Peaks or additional programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Develops, monitors and reports on operating costs and makes recommendations and implements solutions to problems

  • Adhere to special diet requirements

  • Ensures menus include nutritional standards, product specification, costing and development

  • Develops product ordering guides

  • Responsible for working with HR on employee training and development

  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP’s)

  • Implements health and sanitation processes and procedures

  • Works with Marketing director to develop marketing guides, merchandising guides as well as promotional opportunities

  • Implement agile logistics plan

  • Oversite of P&L

  • Identify a point of sale systems/merchant services and cash handling controls if needed

  • Managed budget and controls expenses, effectively.

  • Keeps up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance

  • Responsible to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Overall program development including:

  • Prepared Meals specific to corrections facilities

  • Other necessary programs


  • Well-versed in prepared meals

  • Understanding of P&L

  • Relationship Building – ability to form performance-based relationships at all levels of the organization including direct team members, front line operations, and functional groups. Models and mentors others.

  • Analytical & Financial Acumen – ability to analyze, draw conclusions and act based on both client and company financial information to achieve results and/or improvements

  • Leadership – ability to communicate to achieve both short and long-term employee engagement and financial results

  • Professionalism & Integrity – the ability and willingness to uphold ethical standards and comply with all state and federal laws and company policies and procedures. Brings leadership presence to look and model professionalism for the role.

  • Technology Competency – ability to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, a CRM and other financial and account management software to effectively drive business performance.

  • People Development – proven success in developing a succession plan and promoting people to successive levels. Track record of selecting strong talent. Ability to work with colleagues and direct reports to raise the level of competencies and performance. Leads inclusively; builds diverse teams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a field of operations, or supply chain

  • Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in a manufacturing or large food service company, preferably in the corrections industry.
