Join our team and reimagine what your career can be.Position PurposeThe Civil Engineer serves a pivotal role in ensuring quality design and project deliverables that align with an exceptional client experience and KLJ engineering standards. Position may serve as technical lead, project, or task manager on projects. Position will be responsible for engineering and design tasks of increased complexity and impact.Essential FunctionsApply civil engineering principles and standards to perform and direct engineering tasksDesign of, and the direction of the design of, project elementsDevelopment of construction and bid documents in accordance with organization and client processesConstruction administration process and directing on-site construction observationQuality Assurance and Quality Control review to ensure compliance with KLJ quality standardsParticipate in and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and clientsInstruct, train and mentor group membersUtilize effective written and oral communicationResponsibilitiesDemonstrated civil engineering competenciesResponsible for the completion of project tasks independently or in teamsPlans, organizes and manages project elements including client managementPrepare, and review written reports and other documentsAssist with preparing for and facilitating public and/or client meetings with support from senior staffAssist with scope, fee and schedule developmentMay market to existing or potential clients and obtain workMay be Engineer of Record for deliverablesMay serve as a project/task manager or technical lead for medium scale projects with support from senior staffMay lead proposal and interview development with support from senior staffQualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited post-secondary institutionProfessional Engineer licenseMust possess MS Office skills including Word and ExcelMust have valid drivers license and able to operate motorized vehiclesPreferences:Civil or Construction Engineering DegreeProject Management experiencePrior Engineering Consultant ExperienceHours and TravelThis position requires the individual work 40+ hours per week with 80% of the time spent in the office and 20% in the field.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
