What does a great Fraud Modeler do?
The Risk Analytics team within Digital Payments Solutions is responsible for the development and implementation of effective fraud and risk models to mitigate risk associated with online money movement products such as Zelle, Account to account transfers, New account opening, etc for over 3000 financial institutions in the US.
As a Fraud Modeler, you will build and maintain sophisticated fraud models to detect and mitigate fraud and credit risk for money movement products. You will directly influence customer experience and fraud across high profile products such as Zelle and mobile payments. This is a client facing role and is highly visible within Fiserv. This position will interface with clients on a day basis to discuss risk monitoring performance and maintain client satisfaction.
In this role, you will:
Build sophisticated machine learning fraud models to manage fraud losses for payment products.
Optimize client experience for payment products by managing false positives.
Directly influence payments risk roadmap to future proof Fiserv capabilities.
Develop risk strategy for new payment products and interact with partners in product, risk engineering and operations to execute the strategy.
Work with risk engineering and product development teams on features and variables required for managing risk.
Conduct regular client meetings for reviewing model and risk monitoring performance including tactical check-ins and reviews.
Continuously evaluate current Fiserv fraud toolset and test external risk vendors on effectiveness.
Basic qualifications for consideration:
3 years demonstrated experience in statistical modeling using SAS, R, Python, SKLearn.
3 years demonstrated experience with SQL language (joining tables, aggregating functions, creating statistics for a population and automating summary processes).
2 years of demonstrated experience in risk management (online payments or funds transfer experience preferred).
Preferred qualifications for consideration:
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Business, Economics or a field related to predictive modeling.
Experience with Big Data and machine learning.
2+ Client facing or consulting experience.
Experience in a similar position in banking or credit card industry.
Excellent written and oral communications skills; ability to work with other members of the team, strong interpersonal and communication skills to a non-technical audience.
Exceptional organizational, communication and presentation skills. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical models and specifications to clients.
Results oriented; and have ability to multi-task and handle multiple project deadlines.
Ability to work well with other members of the team. The successful candidate will be analytical, organized, dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficient in use of formulas and pivot tables.
