Howe Inc. HVAC Journeyman in SIOUX FALLS, South Dakota

POSITION SUMMARYThe HVAC Journeyman will work on commercial installation projects by directing the work of apprentices, installing sheet metal ducts, spiral ducts, roof top units and other HVAC equipment. Journeyman will need to be able to read and interpret a commercial HVAC blueprint. You must be organized with the ability to make good decisions. Other duties as assigned iiPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESReads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or project specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing products, materials, and equipment required to complete project.Setting RTUs, Curbs, Split Systems and EquipmentInstalling Kitchen Hoods and EquipmentInstallation of TDC, SandD, Black Iron and Stainless DuctSelects appropriate materials and method of installation, according to project specifications.Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates.Sets up and operates fabricating machines, tools, and equipment as necessary to promptly and accurately complete installation of work.Installs work according to blueprints and in conformance with specifications.Works with project manager, division manager and field superintendent to ensure that work is installed according to schedule and that quality is maintained.Complies with company policies and procedures, especially safety rules.Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.May directly supervises 1 to 2 employeesSome Travel is RequiredM-F Some weekends and able to work OT when neededWork well with customers, co-workers and subcontractorsMaintain professional relationship with customers / buildersiPerform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials and equipmentiQUALIFICATIONSGood oral and written communication skills; Professional appearanceLift at least 100 pounds; Ability to work on ladders and high placeCurrent driver's license iEDUCATION/KNOWLEDGEHigh school diploma or equivalentDemonstrated skills and knowledge of the tradeGood understanding of materials and tools used in the industryAdditional training and education as requiredBENEFITSAt Howe we offer growth, plain and simple.
