JOB SUMMARY

Provides oversight and direction of category management processes resources and correlated processes from inception to sundown - integrating strategic initiatives, process improvement, and organizational goals. Works with supply chain and enterprise leadership, suppliers, and essential clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to align category management strategy and targets to Sanford Health objectives.

Applies technical supply chain knowledge and systems thinking to propose solutions to problems while taking into account impact to the greater organization, stakeholders, suppliers, and supply chain.

Provides supervision and support in department operations, including human resources, budget and finance, short and long- range planning, legal and regulatory compliance. Provides professional, technical and clinical expertise.

Utilizing a market-based and enterprise view, oversees a significant portion of a contract portfolio in excess of $800M. Creates controls and monitors compliance with federal grant and other regulatory requirements.

Engages in productive relationships and regular contact with other supply chain resources and leaders as well as other stakeholders. Negotiates and develops partnered relationships with suppliers guided by a stratified approach to prioritization of opportunities. Manages a select portfolio of contracts. Keeps informed of healthcare and marketplace trends pertinent to category management.

Leads category management resources ensuring standard processes, procedures, and workflows providing alignment of tactical goals to strategic goals. Prioritizes individualized employee development, planning for growth and taking appropriate action when they are lacking.

Develops and propposes non-labor expense reduction programs and efforts. Supports processes leading to consensus with physicians and clinicians for the purpose of product standardization and operational efficiencies.

Ensures appropriate and accurate monitoring and depth of understanding to audit compliance to process and procedures. Evaluates the impact and provides feedback and guidance on decisions of category management resources. Utilizes a systematic approach leading to data driven decisions.

Utilizes project management skills, effective communications, and electronic tools to manage work.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three years' applicable work experience required.
