Great Western Bank Operations Wire Specialist III in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

General Description and Essential Functions

Complete various day-to-day functions within the wire operations department.

  • Prepare, analyze, and accurately process incoming and outgoing, domestic and international wire transfers using client instructions while following bank and regulatory guidelines.

  • Independently determine if wire transactions are legitimate, authentic, accurate, and take appropriate action(s) to minimize potential losses to the bank.

  • Establish a good working relationship with bank personnel and customers to provide support and exceptional customer service.

  • Understand and process multiple types of inquiries in a professional, fast-paced, and high traffic environment.

  • Communicate with customers or bank personnel to perform responsibilities and guide them through a series of actions to process wire transfers accurately with little or no supervision.

  • Maintain or exceed established service level agreements and guidelines for quality resolution of service requests for wire customers.

  • Perform end of day balancing between core system and the Federal Reserve account regarding the wire activity.

  • Process and maintain wire documentation according to regulations that govern wire retention rules and comply with audit standards.

  • Participate in meetings and training seminars as required to stay current on laws or regulation changes.

  • Use experience and knowledge to train other employees as appropriate within the department.

  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as requested.

Qualifications/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of 1 year banking experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of wire transfers, accounting and balancing principles, and bank operations.

  • Proven ability to complete accurate data entry/transaction processing.

  • Meticulous attention-to-detail.

  • Ability to maintain high level of professionalism with internal and external customers.

  • Independent decision making ability with minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility to adapt and work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
