Participates in communication planning and project team meetings
Meets with stakeholders to gather communication requirements
Develops communication strategies
Develops key messages and talking points
Develops communication timelines
Writes and edits communications, partnering with stakeholders for reviews and approvals
Utilizes graphic design and video teams to enhance delivery and drive employee engagement
Copy-edits and reviews communications to ensure they meet voice and brand standards
Delivers communications via appropriate channels
Updates and maintains content on internal employee intranet sites
Identifies project management tools and requirements within own function. Develops a clear, complete understanding of needs and problems through careful listening, probing, reflecting, and summarizing. Demonstrates an expectation that there will be ongoing shifts in demands and priorities. Delivers formal and informal stand-up presentations or demos to audiences of all kinds. Collaborates with departmental associates and management. Applies available tools and resources to work efficiently. Asks questions and accepts feedback non-defensively. Adapts easily to changing work demands. Utilizes specific approaches and tools for checking and cross-checking outputs. Utilizes available tools or approaches for increasing knowledge of self-motivation. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics.
The communication specialist is responsible for planning, developing and implementing internal communication strategies across the enterprise and helps to create informed, engaged, and inspired workforce through the development of effective internal communications. Responsible for the effective delivery of employee communication programs through a wide range of mediums to create impact and engagement. Develops internal communications tactics including email, video, and intranet. Ensures messages are delivered in the appropriate voice and with the appropriate creative presentation, including visual imagery, videos, or graphics. Creates simple, clear and effective communication for all levels with Sanford Health. Partners with the creative team in marketing to add visual, video and animation elements to communications where appropriate. Creates and maintains positive working relationships with partners and stakeholders to understand priorities and needs. Conducts final review and approval before communications are released.
Associate or bachelor's degree required.
Minimum five years relevant experience preferred. Individuals who have been out of the structured workforce for 24 months or longer required.
Experience in healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferred.
Depending on department, applicable licensure/certification may be required.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field is required.
MBA or Master’s degree in communications or related field is preferred.
Minimum of three years relevant communication and/or writing experience, preferably in a large and complex corporate setting, is required.
