U.S. Bank Senior CCAR/Stress Testing Risk Oversight Manager - Multiple Locations in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

SUMMARY

Financial Risk Review (FRR) provides second line risk oversight of the capital adequacy, forecasting and planning, regulatory capital management, stress testing and capital planning program, and resolution planning. Independently review adherence to regulatory guidance, consistency with internal policies, and alignment with industry practices. Partners with Line of Business, other Risk/Compliance/Audit (RCA) professionals, and RCA Managers to, depending on their function, create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework. Participates in projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and inform solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, approaches, governance and controls. Identifies, responds and/or escalates risks as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate capital management and stress testing practices, policies, processes, balance sheet, income and capital forecasting methodologies and approaches.

  • Proactively assess and identify existing and emerging risks and help ensure that they are measured, monitored, and managed effectively.

  • Interact effectively with stress testing program, treasury, risk management, model governance, audit, regulators, and senior management.

  • Keep abreast of industry best practices, regulatory guidance, financial market conditions and apply to the oversight of risk management activities

  • Engage with business lines, develop rapport and credibility in order to drive improvements.

  • Produce succinct written annual assessments of risk management activities and identify weaknesses and opportunities for strengthening practices.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • 10 or more years of applicable experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

PREFERRED

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Capital Planning and Stress Testing, Regulatory or Economic Capital.

  • Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business.

  • Considerable understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls.

  • Considerable knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.

  • Strong financial analysis, critical thinking, process and governance assessment skills.

  • Must possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs.

  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages, including Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.

  • Applicable professional certifications preferred.

  • 1 or more years of management experience including having direct reports.
