Great Western Bank Vendor Management and BCP Support Specialist in Sioux Falls, South Dakota


General Description and Essential Functions

Ensures vendor compliance with quality standards or regulatory requirements established by the government or by the Bank. Assist with the management of the business continuity planning activities so that the Bank is appropriately prepared for, and can respond to unexpected disruptions to normal activities.

  • Assists in identification and evaluation of, and negotiation with, potential vendors or suppliers.

  • Provides centralized support to Vendor Relationship Managers during the annual review process to include documentation and review of compliance, SOC, BCP, financial, IT risk assessment, contract, and other key vendor performance assessments.

  • Prepares regular vendor management reports for mission-critical vendors that highlight topics such as IT risk assessment, quality of service, and contract adherence.

  • Provides procurement related tasks associated with determining best cost for products, analyze market and delivery systems, source and interview vendors, negotiate contracts and monitor expenses.

  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity management program.

  • Participates in external business continuity management organizations and keeps abreast of industry best practices and trends.


  • Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, business, or a related field.

  • Two years of banking or similar operational/production experience or the equivalent.

  • Experience working with suppliers and contracts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities.

  • General proficiency with MS Word and Excel.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.

  • Requires attention to detail.
