DescriptionJob SummaryReporting directly to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, Corporate Secretary, this role supports the mitigation of legal, regulatory and compliance risks, supports the Governance, Risks and Compliance teams and other functional support and business initiatives.Principal ResponsibilitiesWorking closely with the risk and compliance teams, acts as advisor on legal issues involving the organization's governance, risk and regulatoryReviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to beProvide legal support for compliance investigations and audits.Provides bank regulatory oversight legal support.Provide legal and regulatory supports for the company's Environmental, Social and Governance program.Legal lead in the areas of ethics and policy administration.Provide legal support for the company's marketing and communications teams.Lead the legal team administration of regulatory change management.Support bank regulatory and risk legal support for large cross-functional company initiatives.Collaborate with the company government relations team providing legal support on key policy initiatives.Review and draft legal documents and advise employees on legal and regulatory issues related to vendors, projects, and marketing.Demonstrates experience in general corporate matters, which may include corporate organization, securities compliance, drafting transactional documents, license agreements, employment law, immigration law, data privacy, risk management asset-backed financing, and contractMay manage members of the legal staff.ExperienceTypically, 10+ years of experienceIn-house legal department and major law firm experience preferredCorporate and/or financial institution preferredEducation/CertificationJuris doctorate degree required from accredited law school, with strong academic recordMust be a licensed to practice law in at least one stateCompetenciesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with all levelsBusiness acumenDecision qualityMetaBank, N.A. is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disabled/VeteransThe responsibilities listed above are not all inclusive and may be changed at any time.We are a team of problem solvers and innovators who celebrate our differences and know that our unique perspectives make us stronger and well-positioned for success.
