Corteva Agriscience Strategic Account Manager - West-Central South Dakota in South Dakota


Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Account Manager in Central South Dakota.

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) role is responsible for implementing the direct sales process with selected Strategic Accounts to drive market share growth. You will develop relationships with key accounts to grow the total Corteva acre beginning with Pioneer seed, plus Corteva Crop Protection and Granular Digital Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Create demand for Pioneer Seed and Corteva™ portfolio of products (Pioneer Seed, Corteva Crop Protection, Granular Digital Services) with the most influential and progressive farming operations in your geography.

  • Focus on a selected list of strategic accounts to drive significant growth and meet assigned unit and revenue targets.

  • Align strategic accounts with the most compatible supporting team (Sales Representatives, Agronomists, Territory Managers, etc.) and collaborate to execute a comprehensive call strategy to elevate our business partnerships.

  • Champion customer success by coordinating purposeful, customized activities and direct customer support to build trust in the Pioneer Brand and strengthen the relationship with the supporting team.

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and provide feedback to the organization on sales effectiveness, product performance, program effectiveness, and competitive activity.

  • Develop a clear and consistent value proposition to assist growers in achieving higher profitability.

  • Suggest improvements or alternative tactics to help achieve commercial area and territory goals.

  • Prospect. Increase penetration by reengaging prospects, understanding their decision-making process and building business partnerships that result in net new revenue.

  • Digital: Collaborate with local Granular Certified Services Agents to add value to key accounts through the application of precision agronomy, industry-Leading product knowledge and on-farm agronomy trials and service.

  • Crop Protection: Collaborate with the local Crop Protection Territory Managers to develop an annual plan on select accounts to achieve Crop Protection sales target. Over time, increase knowledge and stewardship of Corteva™ crop protection products to provide on-farm expertise to Strategic Accounts in the evaluation of pests, product selection, application methods and application timing.

  • Collaborate with other Northern Plains Extended Leadership Team members to develop and execute Area Strategy and strategic initiatives.



What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Business, Marketing required, will consider other degrees with related field sales experience.

  • 7 years of Ag sales or field agronomy experience, managing and coaching individuals.
