General JOB DescriptionCreate complex models, layouts, drawings and sketches utilizing 2D and 3D CAD SystemsDesign parts and assemblies, provide drawings, assembly drawings and bills of materials for fabricated materials as requested by engineersAssist shop in solving problems related to assemblies or bills of materialReview appropriate software to accomplish tasksUse appropriate software to accomplish above tasksWage is negotiable and DOE/Q.work experience requirementsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Familiar with drafting standards, symbols, nomenclature, engineering terms, proper use of reference materials and vendor specifications related to a specific area of workPrepare clear, complete and accurate detail drawings from rough or detailed sketching, notes, or project wrap-upsReview fabricated issues and wrap-ups; document appropriatelyImplement and complete any design related functions per engineeringDesign innovative products and improvements to support projectsWork on cost reduction or product enhancement projectsSupport the shop floor with any manufacturing problems that may occurSupport engineers as a technical resource as neededCreate Bills of Material for production orders that meet customer specificationsDevelop and create jigs, fixtures and carts for manufacturingHelp Parts and Warranty (release as needed)Work with others to clarify or resolve design requirement questionsComply with all safety rules and proceduresPreferred:Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D Modeling (or similar software)Two yearsi experience designing mechanical equipment (or relevant experience)Some understanding of electrical and mechanical operationsAssociates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferredEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSHS diploma or equivalent requiredSoftware knowledge in AutoCAD and InventorComputer skills (Microsoft and CAD)pre-employment requirementsPre-Employment Drug ScreenHealth Assessment Questionnaire or medical examination
