Prairie Aquatech LLC Environmental Health and Safety Technician in Volga, South Dakota

Prairie AquaTech Manufacturing, LLC is a technology company based in Volga, South Dakota that is improving animal health and nutrition by providing high quality feed ingredients. The Company is upgrading sustainable, soybean meal to high quality ingredients used in aquaculture and other animal feeds. Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking an experienced Accountant I to join our accounting and finance team.The Environmental Health and Safety Technician will maintain and improve the Environment Health and Safety Program and be responsible for the continuing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all environmental health and safety policies and procedures for the Company facilities under the direction of the EHandS Manager.The job holder's primary responsibility is to maintain compliance with Health and Safety regulations in accordance with federal, state, and local laws as well as corporate policies for Prairie AquaTech.Key Activities and ResponsibilitiesEnsure assigned compliance tasks are completed in a timely manner.Assist with training, maintaining the readiness and capabilities of the plant's emergency response plan.Schedule and coordinate required site safety assessment, inspection and training with site personnel.Review and maintain all HES procedures and work instructions, to ensure safety and compliance.Participate in weekly management meetings.Coordinate Safety Committee meetings and overall effectiveness.Ensures workplace safety by conducting safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.Participation in Root Cause Investigations for any/all HSE Incidents or Events.Develop site drill schedule and co-ordinate it with management, operations and the local fire departmentContinuous improvement of HES programs to ensure compliance with all regulatory and permitting requirements related to Industrial Health, Occupational Safety and Environment.Recognizes and analyzes EHandS risks present in the work environment and assists the team in the development of programs, procedures and /or work processes to mitigate those risks and ensure compliance.Maintain all safety, environmental records.Review work areas for potential losses and near misses and implement effective change to mitigate losses in a timely manner.Investigate all incidents or accidents.Ensures workplace safety by conducting safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.Assist EHandS Manager with various tasks as delegated and assigned.Any other tasks assigned by managerRequired Education/Work ExperienceA working knowledge of federal health and safety regulations:Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point is essential.Demonstrated CompetenciesDemonstrate personnel management,time managementand organizational skills and the ability to shift priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate with hourly workforce, visitors, vendors and business associates.Excellent judgment and problem analysis skills are required as well as tolerance for stress.Highly motivated team player able to work at a fast pace.Strong analytical skills to provide the appropriate assessment of compliance requirements in the identification and resolution of problems.For more information, or to apply now, you must go to the website below.
