Minn-Dak Farmer's Cooperative Financial Analyst/Business Development in Wahpeton, North Dakota

SummaryThe Financial Analyst/Business Development (FABD) position of Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative is responsible for assisting the CFO and Manager of Budgeting, Planning and Analysis (MBPA) in preparing business cases, conducting market research, and performing other due diligence responsibilities as required for new business opportunities. This position will also perform analysis pertaining to process improvements and other profit generating activities. The Financial Analyst/Business Development position (FABD) will also assist the Manager of Budgeting, Planning and Analysis with the preparation of the annual operating budget.The Financial Analyst/Business Development position reports directly to the Manager of Budgeting, Planning and Analysis.Essential Job DutiesResponsible for assisting the MBPA with the Cooperative's annual budget, including the analysis of current and past financial data and performance.Assist the CFO and MPBA in project due diligence effortsIdentify, research, and develop financial models for new business opportunitiesPrepare an annual budget for business development activities, including estimated consulting, testing and legal requirements for the business development projectsCommunicates with Cooperative leadership in a timely manner regarding project status, risk, and next stepsPrepare financial analysis for the Cooperative, which is required for strategic project business cases, special projects, variance analysis, capital expenditures payback and IRR analysisManage project deliverables and timelines, including monthly production and cashflow forecastsAssist the MBPA in the preparation of the monthly sugar beet payment estimates and maintenance of the sugar beet payment modelAssist the consolidation of the historical financial data of the CooperativePerform other duties as required by the businessAdhere to all company policies and strict adherence to safety guidelinesQualificationsBachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Economics, Statistics, International Business or Business AdministrationCertified Public Accountant preferredKnowledge of the sugar beet and/or agricultural industry a plusExpert-level analytical and financial skillsStrategic thinking skillsAt least five years of experience in financial analysis and/or budgetingExperience in research and development project a plusOrganized with excellent time management skillsStrong Computer Technology skillsGood verbal, written and presentation skillsCompetencies and skill set required to do the job wellStrong project management skillsSelf-starter and able to monitor multiple project simultaneously and meet constant deadlinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsInterpersonal skillsBudget management skillsOrganization and time management skillsMicrosoft Office proficiency, including advanced Excel knowledge and skillsLeadership skillsPhysical Demands and ExpectationsLiftBendWalkClimb stairs
